My daughter has a project to do in art class. She is studying Africa, and she is making something similar to a tribal necklace to present to her classmates. This piece is a symbol of protection which "offers a defense against the evil-eye".
When I asked her if she ever got the "evil-eye" from anyone, she said, "No- but I have given it!"
I may just need one of those necklaces myself.
"It is curious, but if one smiles, darkness fades."
