I did something good today.

You know those people in your life that you couldn't do without? the ones who talk reason in your moments of insanity or pull you up and wipe you off when you fall into a murky mess and then hug you despite the dirt you have been wallowing in. I have a few of those people hanging around.

Well, my aunt D. is one of my favorite people and over the last few years has been a sort of life line in my whirlwind of troubles. I cannot tell you how many times she has talked me out of my silliness and put me on a more reasonable course even when I didn't want to go that way.

So, I was given some money for my birthday and I like money, (it's the gift that never fails, right) but I usually just put it to a bill or something that is a necessity so most of the time people refuse to give it to me because they say I need to spend it on something I want. I want my bills paid, but for some reason the gifter just doesn't see that as an acceptable use of a gift. Well this year I spent my money on a totally indulgent purchase! O.k. not all of my money, but I had a coupon and good deals like this just don't fall out of the sky, it's feminine and girly, and I really wanted to buy this, and after all- it's MY money, sooo...

I sent my aunt D. flowers!! She won't get them until the end of the week because she is one busy lady and I wanted her to be home to enjoy them. (if you know who I am talking about- You are sworn to secrecy, DO NOT utter a word!!) and I am totally excited and happy!!

And just so everyone knows, money is still my favorite gift!
